Melodies That Carried Me To God˚₊۶ৎ˙⋆
Hellooooo teachers and friends who are reading my articleee 👋👋👋😁. In this writing, I would like to share one of the most meaningful experiences in my life, my journey in joining the school choir and how that experience really led me to serve in the church choir too. At first, when I was in 7th grade, I joined the school choir extracurricular because it helped me have a new activity so I wouldn’t get bored after school. I did not think too deeply about it, and honestly I did not expect that this would give me so many new experiences. I often thought that choir practices or meetings felt boring, and I still didn’t have much confidence in my voice. However, as time passed, something slowly changed, and that small change grew into something much bigger than I had imagined.

As our practices continued, my relationship with the choir extracurricular became deeper, and I began to feel that it was truly meaningful. I started learning different vocal techniques, understanding harmonization, and practicing how to blend my voice with others. There were moments when my friends and I struggled while singing a song that was difficult to perform, or when we couldn’t match the tempo that the teacher gave us. But every challenge made us grow stronger. My confidence improved gradually, especially when our teacher encouraged us and reminded us that every voice mattered and should be heard. Little by little, I found myself genuinely enjoying the feeling of being in the choir.
I was no longer lazy every time I had choir practice because it was actually fun and helped me improve my voice step by step every single Day. This experience eventually led me closer to God. Why? Because I started helping my church with my voice. I joined the church choir too, and I began to serve God with sincerity. When I joined the church choir, I felt a different kind of joy because my friends were also joining and supporting each other. For the first time, I finally felt that I wasn’t lazy anymore whenever I had a responsibility to follow choir practice at church.
Not only was it fun, but it helped me grow spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Singing became a way for me to express my gratitude, and it slowly shaped my heart into becoming more sincere and more open. Along this journey, I also gained new and unexpected experiences. One of the most unforgettable moments was when our school choir joined a competition. We trained for several weeks, practicing harmonies, memorizing lyrics, and perfecting our stage presence.
There were times when my friends and I felt stressed because our teacher got mad at us for not singing loudly enough or for not paying attention to details. But every mistake taught us something, and every improvement made us stronger and more united. On the day of the competition, we gave our very best. Standing on stage, hearing our voices blend perfectly, and seeing the audience smiling at us made my heart beat fast because I was super nervous. And when the announcement came that we had won, I felt extremely happy, proud, and grateful. That moment gave me a huge boost of confidence, showing me that hard work really pays off.
Through everything I went through, serving God, singing with my friends, learning how to trust my own voice, i gained so many precious lessons. I learned to be more responsible, more disciplined, and more willing to push myself beyond my comfort zone. I learned how meaningful it is to serve God with a sincere and honest heart, and how music can bring people closer together. Every performance, every rehearsal, every moment of laughter and frustration helped shape who I am today.

This journey has given me memories that I will always carry with me: singing together, serving together, and growing together with my friends. I have had so many new experiences and achieved things I once thought were impossible. Becoming part of the choir has helped me discover a better version of myself, a version that is more confident, more determined, and more willing to step out of my comfort zone, especially since my comfort zone used to be being lazy. I am truly thankful for every step of this experience, and I believe that choir will continue to be a meaningful part of my lifeeeee ❤. It has changed me in ways I never expected, and I know that the melodies I sing today will continue to guide me, inspire me, and carry me even closer to God as I grow
